Enhance your FLOWGA yoga experience with the transformative power of music. Energize, concentrate, and uplift with harmonious frequencies.
Sweat n’ Sculpt is a FLOWGA original - a hot, dynamic, and challenging conditioning class that makes you feel like you have left a part of your soul on the mat and ready to start anew when it is all said and done. It’s that intense, but in the most rewarding way.
I remember the first time I cried in class. It was 13 years after I first stepped foot onto a mat. At that very moment, when I cried, I was lost in a sea of yogis in the middle of a yoga festival. The tears were uncontrollable. Snot was gushing from my nose. My face was blushing from sweat, summer heat, and emotions. I was basically ugly crying in public and I had lost hold of my feelings. That episode was one of the most liberating experiences of my life.
‘Surrender’ and ‘let go’ were the words my favourite yoga teacher, Matt, would tell us in each of his classes.
After graduating in Toronto, I was clueless about my future - where to stay, what to do, and most importantly, what I can do as a career. I no longer vibed with Toronto, and wanted to end the chapter right away. I decided to have a chat with Matt. His advice was to follow my heart and to never look back. It was a big reassurance for me. The following week I hopped on a flight to Hong Kong. It was impulsive and the best decision I have ever made.
We are believers in the benefits of practicing a dynamic flow in an infrared heated room. Usually termed ‘hot yoga class’ which can mean a multitude of hot yoga practices including Bikram which is a hot yoga class consisting of 26 static postures practiced twice. At FLOWGA, we call our hot yoga classes ‘FLOWS’, basically a hot power vinyasa class but faster. It’s a constant flow of poses linking with breath and movement practiced in a 38℃ room.
Living in NYC, I was always living that hectic lifestyle, moving mindlessly from one thing to the next. I found yoga during the darkest periods of my life at the age of 25. I was stressed, overworked, overweight, involved with relationship drama. I never really took care of myself. I had depression and was engaging in unhealthy practices that put my body through mental and physical stress. As a result, I went into a deep sleep for five days.
